US shares opened sharply lower on Friday, following a warning from FedEx Corp.
Investors are also waiting for another hike in interest rates by the Federal Reserve next week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 353 points, or 1.2%, to end at 30,609.
The S&P 500 shed 48 points, or 1.2%, to trae at 3,854.
The Nasdaq Composite fell 188 points, or 1.6%, to close at 11,365.
Stocks were on track for weekly losses, with the Dow Industrials down 3.7% during Thursday's close
while the S&P 500 had dropped 4.1% and the Nasdaq Composite had shed 4.6%.
